lexa Schulten-Baumer studied with her father, Dr. Uwe Schulten-Baumer, one of the most successful and popular trainers in the world. Dr. Schulten-Baumer is best known as the trainer of Isabel Werth, Nicole Uphoff-Becker and Margit Otto-Crepin, among others. Together with her father, Ms. Schulten-Baumer developed the training method of stretching and suppling techniques that has enjoyed enormous success with the afore-mentioned riders. Ms. Schulten-Baumer was instrumental in the formative and advanced training of such famous horses as Rembrandt and Gigolo, Madras and Akeena.

Ms. Schulten-Baumer is a champion in her own right. At 16, she was the youngest rider ever to win a Gold Medal from the German Olympic Committee by winning 10 "S" level dressage classes. For the 10-year period from 1977 to 1987, she was a member of the elite "A Kader," the group of Grand Prix riders from which the German Olympic Team is selected. Among many other successes, she won the prestigious Goodwood Grand Prix on Madras in 1981.

After taking time off from her showing career for the birth of her two daughters, Ms. Schulten-Baumer has resumed her career, training and showing horses from green to Grand Prix. She presently operates a successful training stable near Bonn, Germany and is successfully introducing several of her own young horses to competition, as well as those of clients. She is also one step away from becoming a Grand Prix judge in Germany.

Her 2001 competitive successes were tremendous, receiving scores ranging from 71% to 89% (average score of 78%!) with young, inexperienced horses at levels ranging from DressagePferde A to M Level Dressage. After a very successful year with her 6-year old, she will be introducing her to S-Level dressage in the 2002 show season. She is bringing several other young horses along right behind her. Regarding her ability to select talented young horses, a 3-year old stallion she selected received an 85% in a Materials Class in Germany.

She has an incredible eye for young horses and a gift for training them in such a way that maximizes their talent, scope and desire to perform dressage, as evidenced by both her earlier and current successes, as well as those of her clients who have bought horses and/or trained with her. Her U.S. clinics are growing quickly as a result.
